Itinerary

Upon landing at Paro Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and begin a comfortable private drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and passes the historic Tamchog Lhakhang iron chain bridge, where you may pause to take photographs if you wish.

After reaching Thimphu, check in to your hotel and enjoy a brief rest. Later, begin your city exploration with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, followed by stops at the Motithang Takin Preserve, Zilukha Nunnery, and the impressive Thimphu Dzong (Tashichho Dzong), the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.

Begin the day with a visit to the National Folk Heritage Museum, offering insight into traditional Bhutanese lifestyles, customs, and cultural heritage. Continue on foot to the National Painting School, then proceed to the Bhutan Post Office Headquarters, where you can browse an impressive collection of stamps or create personalized stamps featuring your own photo at an additional cost.

After lunch, travel by road back to Paro. Along the way, stop at a local farmhouse to observe daily rural life and interact with residents before continuing to your destination.

After breakfast, set out for a trek to the iconic Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang), the most celebrated landmark of Bhutan. The hike takes around 1.5 hours to reach the main viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the monastery—this is the spot where many of the famous photographs are captured. Continue trekking for another 1.5 hours along the trail to reach the monastery itself and explore this sacred site.

After descending from the mountain, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan. Located on a hill above Paro Dzong, the former watchtower houses a rich collection of artifacts that reflect Bhutan’s history, art, and cultural heritage.
