Do I need a visa to visit Egypt?
Yes, almost all foreign nationals need a visa to enter Egypt. The easiest way is to apply for an e-Visa online. A single-entry e-Visa costs USD 25 and allows a stay within 30 days. This option is available to citizens from 78 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, etc.
Kindly note: It is required to submit your e-Visa application at least 7 days before your departure.
When is the best time to visit Egypt?
The ideal time to visit Egypt is between October and April. Temperatures are milder during these months, making it comfortable to explore outdoor attractions like the pyramids and temples.
Summer (May-September) can be very hot, especially in southern Egypt. However, it's a great time for beach vacations on the Red Sea. If you plan your tour in Egypt wisely, like exploring during cooler morning hours and retreating to air-conditioned spaces during the hottest parts of the day, you can still enjoy a nice vacation in Egypt.
How many days do I need in Egypt?
Generally, an Egypt tour of 10 days would be enough for you to take a Nile Cruise and explore the main attractions in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. Can I go inside the Pyramids of Giza?
Yes. The interiors of all three pyramids of Giza are open to visitors, including the Great Pyramid (also called Pyramid of Khufu), the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure. If you're interested in exploring the pyramid inside, please contact your personal travel expert to add it to your Egypt tour itinerary.
Which is better: a nile cruise or overland tour from Aswan to Luxor?
If you want to see the major temples but also enjoy a relaxed holiday, go with a Nile cruise. Especially recommend for a first-time trip to Egypt.
If you have been to Egypt before, or have more time, or want to try something "beyond the guidebook," do an overland tour would be a better option since it is more felaxible and you can control the pace. Just notice that traveling by land means you need to keep moving, change hotels frequently, and more physical effort.
