- Day 5: Cafayate – Salta, Wine Tasting Experience
Today’s main highlight is sampling “Torrontés,” one of Argentina’s most renowned wines. The large temperature swings between day and night in Cafayate, along with low rainfall, help this grape develop remarkable acidity and fragrance. The meltwater from the mountains adds a distinct character, giving Torrontés from this region a unique and intense flavor profile compared to other areas.
On the return trip to Salta, travel through the stunning Las Conchas Valley. Here, wind and water erosion have sculpted the rocks into striking natural formations, including the Amphitheatre, Devil’s Throat, the Toad, the Castle, and many other fascinating shapes.
