- Day 1: Arrival in San José
Welcome to San José, Costa Rica’s capital and largest city. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative, who will welcome you and provide all the necessary documents for your journey.
Afterward, you will be transferred to a carefully selected hotel, a peaceful retreat located in the heart of the city and known for its elegant Victorian charm. Featuring Spanish-tile fountains, displays of local Costa Rican artwork, lush gardens filled with tropical flowers, and attentive service, the hotel offers a warm introduction to Costa Rican hospitality from the very start of your trip.

- Day 2: San José to Pacuare River
Today, journey through lush rainforests that border the Pacuare River. You will cross the river by raft or scenic hanging cable and then enjoy a short hike to reach your hotel, beautifully tucked away in an extraordinary natural setting. Surrounded by vibrant wildlife and untouched rainforest, this luxurious eco-lodge offers a secluded and inspiring base for adventure, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

- Day 3: Pacuare River Rainforest Experience
Wake up to the soothing sounds of flowing water and tropical birdsong, then enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared with fresh ingredients, many sourced directly from Pacuare Lodge’s own farm. Afterward, set off on an exciting canopy zipline adventure, gliding above the treetops and taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding rainforest.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You may choose to further explore the natural beauty of the Pacuare River area or select from a variety of optional activities offered by the lodge, including a Cabécar indigenous cultural walk, a guided birdwatching tour, a rural visit to the Bajo del Tigre community, or a sustainability-focused experience that highlights how everyday actions can help protect the environment.

- Day 4: Pacuare River to Arenal Volcano Adventure
Today’s rafting expedition promises plenty of excitement as you take on the thrilling waters of the Pacuare River. With a certified guide and proper safety equipment, you’ll be well prepared for the adventure ahead. Before setting off, you’ll receive a detailed safety briefing to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
As you navigate the river, you’ll pass through dramatic canyons and admire cascading waterfalls plunging into the river below. There will be stops to explore hidden side streams that lead to beautiful waterfalls and opportunities to swim in clear, refreshing pools. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed along the riverbanks. After completing the rafting journey, you’ll have time to change into dry clothes before continuing by private transfer toward La Fortuna. Along the way, you’ll travel through charming towns, admire scenic countryside views, and learn about the region’s main agricultural products.

Today is another free day to plan as you wish. While many outdoor adventures are available in the area, you may choose to enjoy a more cultural activity, such as a hands-on cooking class or an immersive chocolate tour.
On the cooking experience, you will visit Mr. Scott Alan’s kitchen, featuring stunning window views of Arenal Volcano. Under his guidance, you’ll learn the secrets behind traditional Costa Rican dishes and even try your hand at preparing a classic Caribbean cocktail.
If you opt for the chocolate tour, you’ll discover the full chocolate-making process from cacao bean to cup. The experience also highlights the history and cultural significance of chocolate, ending with the chance to prepare and savor a cup of authentic traditional hot chocolate.

- Day 7: Arenal Volcano – Return to San José & Departure
Your unforgettable Costa Rica journey comes to an end today. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to San José International Airport for your flight home. The drive takes approximately three hours, so it is recommended to schedule your departure flight for midday or later.
